Reed matting

Used as a tree trunk protective material, reed matting provides high levels of temperature stability. The irregularly spaced reeds ensure continuously varying levels of sun exposure and shade for the same bark areas. One layer of matting should be wrapped around the tree trunk and left in place for two vegetation periods.
